Geely sends three model lines to Cuba in a 1,560-car shipment
A shipment of 1,560 Geely cars left Ningbo for Havana on October 22. The order brought together three model lines for Cuban government use, according to contemporaneous reporting published on October 25.
The shipment comprised 1,310 Free Cruiser cars, 150 Emgrand EC718s and 100 Emgrand EC820s. The vehicles were loaded at Beilun onto a Singapore-registered roll-on/roll-off vessel.
The order followed an earlier large Cuban government purchase in 2009 of approximately 1,500 Geely vehicles. The new shipment broadened the range supplied to the Cuban market.
